Kollaboration im Netz Zwischen Social Media & Protest
Die transformative Kraft von Social Media und dem Web 2.0 zählt zu den 
zentralen Topoi des beginnenden 21. Jahrhunderts. Doch erst seit kurzem wird 
die Bandbreite sozialer Prozesse ersichtlich, die mit diesen neuen Medien und 
Technologien verbunden sind: Von der markt- orientierten Aneignung und 
Einhegung des Internets durch Facebook und ähnlichen Un- ternehmen, hin zur 
kreativen Nutzung dieser Technologien in den Mobilisierungen zum Um- sturz 
autoritärer Regime in Nordafrika.
Um die Möglichkeiten und Widersprüche neuer kollaborativer Technologien des 
Internets besser verstehen zu können, wird Philippe Aigrain, Mitbegründer 
von «La Quadrature du Net», Informatiker und ehemaliger Leiter der Sektion 
«Software Technologien» der Europäischen Kommission seine Thesen zur 
Ökonomie des Tei- lens sowie seine Perspetiven zur aktuelle Debatte über 
geistiges Eigentum vorstellen.
Sein Vortrag wird durch drei Interventionen von WissenschaftlerInnen, die in 
den Bereichen Internet, Kultur und Gesellschaft arbeiten, ergänzt.

Collaboration on the Web Between Social Media & Protest
The transformative power of social media and Web 2.0 is one of the truisms of 
the beginning of the 21st century. But only recently have we seen the 
diversity of social processes associated with these new media and 
technologies, from Facebook’s (and others’) corporate re-appropriation and 
fencing-in of the Internet to the creative use of the same technologies to 
help topple oppressive regimes in North Africa.
To better understand the opportunities and contradictions offered by the new 
collaborative technologies, Philippe Aigrain, co-founder of «La Quadrature du 
Net», computer programmer, and former head of sector «Software Technologies» 
in the European Commission, will present his theses on the economy of sharing 
and talk about the current debate about intellectual property.
His talk will be complemented by three short interventions from scientists 
working in the field of internet, culture, and society.
